2021 Quarter 1: COVID-19 Quality Care Updated
Providers in Western NYS have learned a great deal about treating patients that suffer from COVID-19 infections. This session was recorded in January 2021. Paramedic Shawna Rizzi does a fantastic job of interviewing Dr. Christopher Galton. Dr. Galton draws on his experience as a paramedic, EMS medical director, intensivist, and anesthesiologist to summarize the changes that every paramedic should know.

The second part of this series is the first of three scenarios. All three scenarios are designed to review complicated situations that BLS providers may be asked to navigate. This scenario involves a patient with special needs who has developed angioedema. COVID-19 Pandemic—EMS Documentation
Paramedics Mark Philippy and Ben Sensenbach take time in the Spring of 2020 to discuss the documentation concerns that are associated with COVID-19. This in-depth discussion will lead most providers to the conclusion that they are already doing good work and it should continue. This discussion is strong enough to lead the same providers to think slightly differently about what is done during a pandemic period and they may decide to make minor alterations in what the way the document after EMS responses.
